INTERNAL VISION

Radon is a dynamic organisation which is focused on the growth and development of knowledge and skills of all employees, especially those from "Previously Disadvantaged Communities". Radon supports the principles of affirmative action and strives to create real opportunities for "Previously Disadvantaged Individuals". During the last financial year, Radon has:

Successfully implemented an "Affirmative Procurement Policy" and has achieved a "Contract Participation Goal" in excess of 30 % of turnover.

Successfully implemented a training program and has employed an additional 30 employees after successful completion of training courses in accredited building industry and civil engineering training institutes.
Successfully appointed and developed "PDI's" to the positions of Administration Manager, Stores Manager, Workshop Manager, Section Leader, Site Foreman and other key personnel. These appointments have been made at both head office and on various construction sites.

Successfully commenced with training of "PDI's" at tertiary training institutions.

EXTERNAL VISION

In its support of affirmative action policies, Radon strives to do business with companies which have similar visions. As a consequence:

Radon formed an association with Sawcon, an "ABE" whose workers, exclusively from previously disadvantaged communities, are the shareholders. This is a "win win" association which enables the "ABE" to have a secure and reliable source of work and for Radon to execute contracts in partnership with an "ABE" to fulfil Radon's goal of empowering "PDI's" in line with the Government's stated policies.
Radon gives preference to "ABE" suppliers.
Radon gives preference to "ABE" subcontractors.
Radon sets "Participation Goals" for each contract awarded.
Radon offers practical on-site training in technical, administrative and management functions to "ABE" contractors.
Radon aims to employ previously trained "ABE" contractors on future contracts to ensure the continued development and upliftment of "ABE" contractors. We believe that this synergy will ensure the mutual development of Radon and it's associated "ABE" contractors.
