Radon IT Services
Over the years Radon has developed their own software to suit their own operational requirements. Recently, Radon has adopted a more dynamic approach with their software development. The new software is a user-customisable application that allows Radon to create their own software modules on the fly. This software is unique in that it allows its users to build additional functionality within the software completely without programmer intervention. Modules can be added to the system which supports hierarchical data structures, and the fields for each module are customiseable.
In effect the system is a ERP System that has been designed to allow setups to suit user requirements. In its current form as setup for the contracting construction industry, it is an Integrated Construction Business Management Information System which offers a complete software solution for contractors in the construction industry.
The system offers a combination of the functionality of a database system together with spreadsheet, word processing, Microsoft® Project-style gantt chart planning and graphics functionality.
The system can be setup to run on a stand alone computer or on a network. Radon currently has the system running on a central server at their head office. The server is available to all their construction sites via remote desk tops or VPN.
The Database resides on a MS SQL Server.
The software development has been done by Singular Systems (Singular.co.za) for Radon Projects as per Radon specifications. All support for the system is done by Singular Systems.
The purpose of the software, as setup by Radon, is to assist with management of all aspects required to run a construction company.
